Wednesday Morning Tropical Update: Beta moving inland, Teddy across Nova Scotia

Beta is now a remnant low over SE Texas and it will move across Louisiana to Mississippi the next few days. Scattered showers and storms are expected today and Thursday. Some heavy rain is still possible mainly west and north of the New Orleans area. Coastal flooding will continue this morning, but the water levels will be dropping by tonight.

The tropics are finally calming down.

Teddy is a powerful non-tropical low that will move across Nova Scotia and Newfoundland today but will have tropical storm to hurricane-force winds. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Paulette has weakened back to a non-tropical low ESE of the Azores. It is forecast to slow down and turn to the south today and Thursday. Then to the WSW on Friday in the open Atlantic.

Long-range models indicate we should FINALLY see the Atlantic begin settling down as we head toward October.
